"Let Love Have the Last Word."
Updated: May 30, 2019
I heard this quote by Academy Award winning rapper, Common, and it literally changed my entire mood. Why? Letting love have the last word requires releasing anything short of love. This includes: disappointments, stress, hate, resentment, distrust and anything else that’s not love. Sometimes we justify negativity because we feel entitled to retain the pain we feel… or worse, pass it to someone else.
That’s too much work! We can’t protect our love with hate. The love we share will find it ways back to us ten fold. This applies to more than romance. It holds true for parenting, careers, spirituality, health and other aspects of our lives. Love operates from an authentic place, which is the foundation for success, joy and gratitude.
